Cherokee Casino Grove hosted its first guests this week during its soft opening on December 19th. RedStone’s completion of the 39,000-square-foot facility comes less than a year after groundbreaking.
More than one hundred people waited in line in the 17-degree weather to try their luck hitting the jackpot in northern Delaware county’s new casino. The facility, located north of Grove and Sail Boat Bridge on Grand Lake, will provide more than 170 new jobs to northeast Oklahoma residents.
Modeled similarly to Cherokee’s facility in Fort Gibson, Cherokee Casino Grove features electronic machines, a full-service bar, a venue for live music, and a sit-down restaurant. The development’s grand opening celebration will be in January 2017.
